Reviews for chapter 18

I opened my email this morning and read all the wonderful reviews for the last chapter. It was all very encouraging really, although I had not expected to receive this type of response on what happened to the future Master (won't mention too much for I don't want to spoil the end for those who haven't read it yet). I can understand that he evoked some sympathy because he kinda redeemed himself at the end, but like Tish said, nothing would have happened if it wasn't for him in the first place. I've tried to write him not too likable because he and the past Master are still the same man, but obviously, I've failed...miserably (Sorry, I'm being a bit of a nag right now). Still, Donna deserves some sort of happy ending, and I still have one last chapter to write...So I better start on it.

In case you wondered about the picture, it's from the photo shoot from the Devil's Whore interview, thought he looked rather Master-like on this one.

Finally, chapter is up

I suddenly realize that it was chapter 18 and not 17 that was added. Sorry, but it seems that my head is filled with cotton nowadays. Still, there is a new chapter posted and you can find it here.

As always, if you enjoy it, please review or comment.

New to the story and want to read the whole 400 pages long thing from the start on paper instead from a computer screen? Look to the right side and click on the "The Master of the Ring" picture to go the LULU.com website to download the entire story in PDF or to get it in paperback version.

Chapter 17 editing keeps going on forever

I tried to edit chapter 17 of my Master/Donna fic: "in this world you cannot change", which I wrote a week ago, but it's still not the way it should be. I keep working on it, but the story just doesn't flow, hopefully I get it fixed soon and it's up by tomorrow. I went to Amsterdam yesterday and bought "The Story of Martha" Because the reviews are not too bad and it deals with the stuff that happened to her in the year that never was. The first few chapters were okay, but it's pretty much Masterless. I don't understand why the BBC doesn't publish books that are more focussed on the Doctor's evil counterpart. With the character being so widely popular, a novelization centered around the Master wouldn't hurt their cash register. I started writing fiction just because there wasn't anything out there to read, and I'm pretty much a lazy sod, so go figure!

Calmed down now

Rewatched confidential on youtube, gotta say the guy starts to grow on me. The clips with him with the glasses makes him look indeed older and more Doctor-like. So let's see how he's going to turn out.

New Doctor is anounced

And it is....Matt Smith???

He is 26, and going to take over the Tardis keys from Dave in 2010, with filming starting this summer..

Who the F* is Matt Smith??

So there goes Steven Moffat's promise to cast an older actor.
Must admit, I am shocked if not horrified. During the interview, the young actor seemed somewhat hyperactive, and lacked charm, and that hairdo sends me right back to the eighties...Not a good thing.

Maybe a bit too early to say this, but I think Moffat has officially killed Doctor Who for me by casting this bloke.

New Doctor on betfair, why oh why?

Before I read the article on Outpost Gallifrey I've never heard of betfair before, but apparently there is a bet on who will be the next Doctor. You can put your money on the different names mentioned during the last few months in the media. Here is the list with the odds.

Who likes a bet?

John was still in the race according to this (yeah...right...).

One thing is clear, Patterson Joseph is a favorite here. He is a BBC drama actor who has also done a couple movies, nothing major, but then again, David wasn't that well known before he did Doctor Who. Curious how he looks like? Go here.

According to the Doctor Who site, the betmakers have closed down the bets on this actor because there is a strong rumor going around that indeed, Patterson is going to be the new Doctor.

I don't mind if he were going to be the next Doctor, but I have to admit that I had my own favorites. I don't know the work of this actor, but am sure to check out his previous work once this news is proven to be correct!

Right, still two hours to go before all is revealed...

New Doctor to be announced

I went to Outpost Gallifrey this morning, and look what I found:

BBC News has announced that the identity of the actor who will play the Eleventh Doctor, succeeding current Doctor David Tennant, will be revealed tomorrow.

The news will come in a special edition of tie-in documentary series Doctor Who Confidential, which is being transmitted on BBC One tomorrow evening at 5.35pm. The episode will also be shown at the same time on BBC Big Screens in town centres across the UK.

The actor was confirmed in the role over the Christmas period and will begin filming for Series Five this summer, for transmission in 2010. New executive producer Piers Wenger is quoted as saying: "We believe the actor is going to bring something very special to the role and will make it absolutely their own. I just can't wait to tell everyone who it is - it has been a nail-biting Christmas trying to keep this under wraps!"

The release from the BBC Press Office confirms that the Confidential episode has been retitled "The Eleventh Doctor" (it was formerly advertised as "The Ten Doctors"), and will feature the actor concerned giving his or her thoughts on having been cast. The press release also suggests that the last of David Tennant's episodes as the Doctor will be broadcast in the New Year of 2010.

The BBC has created a special trailer for the Doctor Who Confidential episode, which is also available to British internet users on its official YouTube page.

Well, that is absolutely brilliant!

Don't want to spoil too much, so here is the trailer for the special as posted on the official BBC youtube channel:

Or go to the press release office of the BBC to read more here

I think they went for Morrisey, the guy who played Dr. Jackson at the Christmas special, but we shall see tonight. For those living somewhere without the precious BBC channels, I'll keep you informed!

New chapter coming up and Question about books

Hi there folks

Holiday is sadly almost over, next week I'll be back in the salt mines getting my back whipped by my boss. Luckily, I've managed to get another chapter finished today, and I'll post it up in the morning after some proofreading. Don't want to bullock it up now it's so close to the end. By the way, Ebinny, thanks for your comment, I've left a reply at the post. Just scroll down to read it.

I'm going to bed now, it's like 1 in the morning and my contactlenses are stuck to my eyeballs...
